Everything you need to know
We have gathered everything you need to get started with your employee survey.
This is Great Place to Work
Great Place To Work® is the global authority on workplace culture. Our mission is to help every place become a great place to work for all. We give leaders and organizations the recognition and tools to create a consistently and overwhelmingly positive employee experience, fostering cultures that are proven to drive business, improve lives, and better society.
Great Place To Work® Certification
Great Place to Work is the first and only certification in Sweden for excellent workplaces.
Certification of your organization gives you the opportunity to be recognized as an excellent workplace for your employees, new potential employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
The certification is based on Great Place to Work's global standard of what characterizes an excellent workplace. These standards are based on more than 30 years of empirical research and analysis, as well as millions of employee surveys from more than 100 countries.
The certification is valid for 12 months and can only be obtained when both the Trust Index©* and Culture Brief© have been completed.
*70% in Sweden. Requirements for other countries will be communicated to you if relevant.

Making the list of Sweden’s Best Workplaces
When you have become certified you also have the opportunity to be ranked and recognized on the list of Sweden’s Best Workplaces. The list is announced in the categories; Large, Medium and Small companies.
You can also participate in the ranking of Europe’s Best Workplaces.
In order to participate, we ask you to contact your consultant.

Other lists
In addition to the lists of Sweden's and Europe's best workplaces, we also have two other lists - Skåne's best workplaces and Best workplaces in IT
For the Skåne list, you must have completed your survey and submitted your Culture Brief by May 31st. For the IT list, the deadline is August 31st. See Terms and conditions for certification and ranking for more details.

About Culture Brief & Culture Audit©
Culture Brief – Submission of a questionnaire with information and numerical data that gives us an understanding of your company. Time consumption: about 30 minutes. Culture Brief is to be submitted no later than the last day of the survey.
Culture Audit – Submission of a descriptive text detailing how your culture distinguishes and/or excels compared to other workplace cultures. This is mandatory for companies with 250+ employees*, optional for others (depending on type of agreement). Culture Audit is to be submitted before January 31st.
Both Culture Brief and Culture Audit are to be submitted in your Customer Portal. There will be instructions on how to submit the answers when you access the portal.
You only need to submit one Culture Audit, even if you are participating in more than one country.
You are also welcome to participate in one of our free of charge webinars to obtain more information. Read more and sign up here.
If you have any further questions concerning Culture Brief/Audit, please contact your consultant or send an email to support@gptw.se
*In Sweden. Requirements for other countries will be communicated to you if relevant.
Sample email to send to your employees
We have prepared an email for you to send out internally to your employees. Our experience tells us that an email signed by one or more people from top management, where employees are encouraged to participate in the survey, increases the response rate significantly.
The email should be written with your "voice", so do the adjustments you find necessary.
We recommend that you mention the following:
- Why the survey and everyone’s contribution is important
- How the Trust Index survey is completed
- How you plan to communicate and act on the results from the survey
We recommend that you follow the spirit of the email. Be careful not to use any type of message that might impact how the employees answer the questions. It is important that everyone is honest.
Posters
We have gathered several pictures that you can use to push out the survey through email, the intranet or to print out to put up at the office.
This is available for download at the bottom of the page.

Certificate and logo
The goal is of course that the results from your survey will give you a Great Place to Work-certification. In order to be certified, you need to reach a Trust Index of at least 70%*. The certification will then be valid for 12 months.
When you get certified, you will get:
- A digital certificate to show off in social media, and to print out and show in your office.
- A digital certification logo that states which 12 moths you are certified. The logo should be used on your website, career site, for job listing, social media and in digital/printed ads.
Your certification logo is a way to distinguish yourself as a great workplace and employer. Make sure to involve the marketing and communication team early on in the process.
Together with your certification, you will receive the logo, certificate and a media kit with material to advertise your accomplishments. Among other things, it's possible to get advertising articles written by a journalist to be printed in Dagens Industri or Svenska Dagbladet. If you want more information or consulting in regards to the communication, please read more about our Employer Branding Studio or contact our Employer Branding Officer Andreas R. Sjöström.
*In Sweden. Requirements for other countries will be communicated to you if relevant.

Important information about the award Sweden’s Best Workplaces
To receive a Great Place to Work certification is not the same as being one of Sweden’s best workplaces. This is a separate process, and the ranking is announced during a grand celebration each year, usually at the end of March. Only those who end up on the list of Sweden’s Best Workplaces are entitled to call themselves just that.
During 2024 there were 65 organizations ranked as Sweden’s Best Workplaces. If you are not on this list, you are not entitled to call yourself one of Sweden’s best workplaces.
If you are in the list recognition process, our consultant will reach out to you in advance in order to prepare the communication and PR that follows. Listed organizations also receive a specific logo, valid for a year.
